down in the meadow to give the horse some hay
collecting pretty flowers for a little nosegay
and made a cozy nest on a chill spring day
where their dreams before them lay
in a little boat to touch the sea spray
and walk on the wild side today
now you must rest their momma did say
all aglitter they danced in the sun midday
in a magical land not far away
then with a book did end the day
until the rain chased them away
the sky then turned from blue to gray
through the garden gate where the sweat pea sway
and what did they wear today?
